• Best sited where roots can stay cool and moist, while stems climb toward the sun and air
• Train on a trellis, fence, or through shrubs/trees to create vertical habitat layers
• Responds well in a garden setting to pruning for size control during the growing season
• In winter, cut back hard — typically to 12–24 inches above the ground — to manage size and stimulate vigorous spring growth and heavy bloom

• Virgin’s Bower is vigorous and enthusiastic where conditions are right, making it best paired with larger shrubs and trees, or guided onto trellises and fences. It responds very well to pruning and training, which keeps it in bounds and allows companion plants to thrive.
