Ecology in the Wild
Bromus carinatus (bró-mus kah-ríh-nah-tus) is a cool-season bunchgrass found across the Santa Cruz Mountains, thriving in grasslands, woodland edges, and disturbed slopes. It is especially abundant in early successional habitats, where it quickly colonizes open ground after fire, erosion, or soil disturbance.
