Highlands Park โข 8500 Highway 9, Ben Lomond, CA
We invite you to join us for a day of native habitat restoration at Highlands Park on Sunday, April 2. This event is co-sponsored by the SLV Native Habitat Restoration Program and the AmeriCorps Watershed Stewards Program, and we are seeking 30 volunteers to help make this event a success. The event will take place from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
Led by Watershed Stewards Program corps member Athena Lynch, the day's activities will focus on planting 125 native plants in the Native Plant Demonstration Garden and the Memorial Garden at the Senior Citizen's Community Center. The Watershed Stewards Program has generously donated these plants, which will significantly increase the number of plants in the Native Plant Demonstration Garden. In addition, some volunteers will remove invasives from a fern bed near the playground.
Since 2016, the SLV Native Habitat Restoration Program has led AmeriCorps teams in the Valley, focusing on removing invasive plants at many of our community centers, such as the Boulder Creek and Felton Libraries, the SLV Museum in Boulder Creek, and Highlands Park. At Highlands Park, our team has built a bridge and an educational kiosk at the Senior Citizens Community Center.
We request that volunteers wear closed-toe shoes, a long-sleeved shirt, and long pants and bring a water bottle. The WSP will adhere to all CHPH guidelines during NY in-person restoration events.
To RSVP, please fill out this form. We hope you can join us to lend a hand and make a difference in our community's natural habitat. Don't miss out on this opportunity to give back!
