“Get the Broom Out” Volunteer Workday

March 30, 2024 • 10:00 AM - 12:00 AM

Different location! 11735 Lake Blvd., Felton, CA

Join us for a rewarding volunteer workday dedicated to removing the invasive and highly flammable French broom from our neighborhood! This month, the Lompico Pond Restoration and Demonstration project crew is taking action to protect our community from the threat of wildfires. By removing the French broom before it goes to seed, we're preserving our natural habitat and reducing the spread of French broom and the risk of fire in our area.

Come with your neighbors and friends as we tackle a large broom patch at the intersection of Carrol Avenue and Lake Boulevard. With your help, we can make a significant impact in safeguarding our neighborhood. Let's unite in this vital effort to protect and enhance the beauty and safety of our community. See you there!

  • Tools and supplies provided! No need to bring your own equipment.
  • Gloves are essential. Bring your pair or use our extras.
  • Parking is limited, so consider walking, biking, or carpooling.
  • Dress for success! Long pants, long sleeves, and sturdy closed-toe shoes are a must.
