2. Integrating the Needs of the Native Habitat with Your Use of the Land

Undertake native habitat restoration with a long term view in mind.  It does not need to happen all at once. A little attention each day can add up quickly to ever-greater areas of restored land. From the beginning endeavor to avoid stepping on native plants.  Once a plant is stepped on its growth may be ended for the season and weakened in the long term.  Move slowly and gently with awareness when near native plants.

The San Lorenzo Valley Native Habitat Restoration Program integrates environmental and community needs to restore the riparian habitat and ensure the ongoing health and beauty of the watershed.
